Die Bibliothek in der Kunsthochschule Kassel ist eine Bereichsbibliothek der Universitätsbibliothek Kassel.
Sie umfasst die fachlichen Schwerpunkte Bildende Künste (Malerei, Plastik, Architektur, Graphik, Photographie, Film, Video, Fernsehen), Kunsttheorie (Methodische Grundlagen, Künstlerschriften, Kunstsoziologie, Kunstpsychologie, Kunstkritik, Kunstpflege, Kunstpolitik, Kunstbetrieb, Kunstphilosophie, Kunstpädagogik, Ikonographie, Ikonologie), Design und Kunsthandwerk. An den PCs der Bibliothek können Sie in den Online-Katalogen der UB Kassel, in regionalen, überregionalen und internationalen Bibliothekskatalogen sowie in zahlreichen Datenbanken nach Literatur und Informationen recherchieren. Das Team unter der Leitung von Ute Neubacher steht Ihnen gerne mit Rat und Tat zur Seite.

Künstlerbuchsammlung
Die Kunsthochschule Kassel und die Universitätsbibliothek haben im Jahr 2002 den Startschuss für eine Künstlerbuchsammlung gegeben.
Gesammelt werden herausragende Künstlerbücher von Studierenden der Kunsthochschule Kassel, die über die Archivierung in der Künstlerbuchsammlung der Hochschule erhalten und damit der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht werden. Ankäufe von außerhalb ergänzen die Sammlung.
The Library in the School of Art and Design Kassel is part of the University of Kassel Library.
The library’s collection encompasses a wide range of art-related topics: Fine Arts (Painting, Sculpture, Architectur, Graphics; Photography, Film, Video, Television), Theory of Art (Methodological Foundations, artists’ books, Sociology, Psychology, Politics, Philosophy, Education, Art Critique, the Art Industry, Art Preservation, Iconography, Iconology), Design and Handcrafts.
Computer terminals in the library provide online-access to numerous catalogues, allowing students to search the contents not only of the University of Kassel’s collection but also those of regional, national and international libraries. Student research is also facilitated via access to numerous databanks of literature and other media.
The library staff, supervised by Ute Neubacher, is happy to assist with any enquiries users may have.

Collection of Artist’s books
In 2002, the School of Art and Design Kassel and the University of Kassel Library launched an initiative to acquire books of exceptional quality, which have been produced by students at the School.
The aim of the collection is not only to secure and maintain copies of outstanding student works but also to make them available for general use.
Purchases of artists’ books from outside the School supplement the collection.
